Dear friends and family,
- 2 nights before, Zach had had a dream in which we were with our friends I’ve written about above as missionaries in the Middle East. I was driving and Zach was sending out an e-mail on his phone to our supporters. The e-mail said something along the lines of, “We are entering into a hostile environment, and we weren’t sure of the outcome.” As soon as he sent it, he began weeping in the dream, stating over and over, “Lord, I’m not ready.” I turned to him and said the same thing. He woke up with an intense feeling of the fear of the Lord concerning our current lives and what we were setting as the objects of our affections and center of our lives; i.e – friends, family, even ministry. All of these are good, but the Lord started speaking Philippians 1:21 “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Friends and family are amazing gifts from God, but the point of our living, and even our dying, is for the Glory of Christ! This was a crucial paradigm shift necessary to even begin considering ministry in the Middle East.
- A few weeks before, I was singing on an intercession set in the prayer room, where we were praying for the nations and specifically the Muslim world and one of the friends above started singing this chorus, “put a love in our hearts God, and send us to the nations.” Out of nowhere I was unable to sing anymore and I just started weeping, and saying, “Yes God.” in my heart. That’s so unlike me because I consider us to already be in the nations so I really have never considered being sent to the nations. This has been our assignment.
- We are looking at coming back to the states early May. Zach will get things settled with me and Selah in GA, and then he will head to the ME for 2 weeks with some guys from the team to prepare for the move. We are then going to have some time in the states to process leaving NZ, meet with supporters, churches, friends- tell our story, spend time with family, and RELAX and prepare our hearts and bodies for our move, which will take place at the very end of September. We want to be on the ground in the ME Oct 1.
